An Exhibition of Paintings by Richard Tratt: the stunning and spacious Fine Foundation Gallery is the venue for an exhibition of recent landscape and wildlife paintings of Durlston and Dorset by Richard Tratt. A member of the Society of wildlife artists and the society of Botanical artists, Richard is inspired by the unique Dorset countryside of the Isle of Purbeck, the coast, and hill top panoramas. During the exhibition he will be painting in the galley or within the grounds of the park and nature reserve, weather permitting.

In this course you will make 3 small samples of a pencil pleat curtain.

The course will show you the techniques used when making a curtain using pencil pleat heading tape, giving you the confidence to make your own curtains when you get home. In this two hour session you will learn to make the following: Machine finished pencil pleat headed lined curtain Interlined pencil pleat headed curtain Hand sewn pencil pleat curtain

Daliso Chaponda is an African comedian but his comedy career has been built on jokes about Westerners. His first three shows were predominantly critiques of the insane behaviour of westerners. He still thinks Westerners are crazy but for his latest one man show he’s focusing his humorous eye on Africa. Westerners are insane but to be perfectly honest, Africans are even crazier.

Corruption, tribalism, colonialism, HIV epidemics, absolute dictatorships, ivory smuggling, witch doctors... Daliso’s latest show covers all these and more subjects. Laughrica has already been across Africa and now it’s coming to the UK.

When three leading UK jazz musicians, Andy Crowdy (guitar), Alec Dankworth (double bass) and Chris Garrick (fiddle), join the fantastic Mr Nigel Mckernaghan, maestro of the uilleann pipes and the penny whistle, to explore traditional music from Ireland and Shetland, you know sparks will fly!

This Friday we bring you an exclusive warm-up party for our favourite local festival, Blissfields. For the past 13 years they've been putting on a packed weekend full of awesome live acts, DJs, and so much more for the whole family to enjoy.

Her original work included being a key player in the UK Garage scene back in the early 00s performing for 187 Lockdown and Shanks & Bigfoot. In 2003 Terri was signed to the legendary Def Jam label, releasing debut album 'Untitled', resulting in a nomination for that years Mercury Music Awards and numerous nominations at the MOBO awards.

June sees the next Body Positive Dorset Day, and that means FUN and FUND-RAISING! Fundraising is a great way to get to know your colleagues and to show your customers that you are a responsible business that cares for your local community... and it’s great fun! Why not get staff and customers to wear fancy dress or take on a sponsored activity? Sky-diving perhaps? 

The funds you raise will have a direct positive impact on the lives of local people living with HIV by proving counselling, practical support and back to work advice.
